Teaching Books (K-12): This database is more of a resource for teachers than it is for children, however, it could easily be used fro both. This site provides several different books that teachers can use when teaching the Erie Canal to their students, including e-books with multimedia, as well as books that can be found right in the Lavery Library. - http://eriecanal.org/ : This is the actual website of the Erie Canal. It provides a brief description of the Erie Canal, along with an in-depth historical account of the Canal with images such as old prints, paintings, and postcards, recent photographs, and even provides a virtual tour of the Erie Canal. This particular website also contains an array of related links, maps, books, videos, exhibit information, and information on how to go about visiting the canal today. As far as educational purposes go, this website contains perhaps the most online historical documents regarding the Erie Canal, especially primary documents that would be great to supplement any student's learning.
- http://www.eriecanalway.org/ : The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor works to preserve and share the rich heritage of the Erie Canal as well as to promote the Corridor as a world-class tourism destination. This particular site provides basic information regarding the Canal, along with historical and informational resources for viewers. The site also includes various photo and video galleries, maps, brochures, and even information on how to plan your visit to the Erie Canal. However, what really grasped my attention was the "what's new" section on the homepage which features all of the latest Erie Canal news which would be an amazing tool to utilize in the classroom since it is not only relevant, but it's relatable. It'd be a great way to incorporate current events into the classroom!

2. Comprehension: Explain what is happening in this particular photograph, and explain why it is important.
3. Application: Construct a more simplistic map of the present day Erie Canal using available resources.
4. Evaluation: Based on the map provided, what aspect of the Erie Canal was most beneficial to society at the time the map was created, and why?
5. Application: Explore the images of the Erie Canal. Chronologically organize a time line of the pictures provided.
