Activity # 1:
In this activity, students will compare/contrast the Erie Canal in the past and present by viewing primary photographs before and after reading an article on the Erie Canal! Activity # 2:
For this activity, students will view two maps of the Erie Canal, one at the time of it's creation, and one in present day. Students will examine the pictures below for five to ten minutes and note any information that comes to mind. Then, after watching an interactive video on the Erie Canal, students will go back and change/update any previous information they may have previously had incorrect! Activity # 3:
For this activity, students will listen to the Erie Canal song, then after they have become familiar with the tune, they will attempt to complete a fill in the blank worksheet inclusive of vocabulary words and key concepts! Activity # 4:
For this activity, students will take a virtual tour down the Erie Canal by viewing the following video! . Along the way identifying different features such as major cities, landmarks, forms of transportation, etc. |
